Novatex and the creative encounter with Antonello Ghezzi.
Exhibition: “Venire alla Luce” at the Lercaro Museum in Bologna and short- film clips “E dargli spazio” by Giulio Filippo Giunti
Novatex met the artistic duo in 2020 following an intuition of Nadia Antonello and Paolo Ghezzi. Their vision—that the hay bales scattered across the fields could glow at dusk in a sort of “night land-art”— captivated us. It sparked a challenge inspiring us to design a special net that could make this magic. The result was a luminescent mesh able to capture the light and release its gentle radiance throughout the night.
If there is one thing that fascinates our company, it is the technological challenge. The experimentation phase was far from simple and required countless tests and trials. The challenge came from trying to create nets capable of wrapping the ‘light bales,’ while working with new-generation nets that are increasingly lightweight and designed to reduce environmental impact. By reducing the amount of plastic, in fact, there is also less luminescent material that can be incorporated.
Driven by a deep-rooted spirit of innovation, Novatex embraced this challenge with determination. We worked to fine-tune both materials and chemical components in a way that could result both efficient and sustainable, aiming to create a luminescent net that was not only bright, but also strong, reliable, and capable of delivering the outcome we all envisioned.
Everyone’s efforts were remarkable, and after a long period of fine-tuning, the artwork finally came to life. An artwork shaped and nurtured with passion, different from the initial intent, elaborated through a deep change of direction.
Yesterday, at the opening of the exhibition, the Novatex team and all the other partners, who had accompanied the project from its earliest steps, stood together to celebrate the artwork created by the artists Antonello-Ghezzi and Giulio Filippo Giunti.
Novatex is proud to have played a tangible role in bringing the project to life, culminating in the exhibition “Venire alla Luce”.
